I think its funny that no matter what you look up on a WoW help site there is ALWAYS both extremes of opinions so you never know what is true and what isnt. Most of these negative posts are from classes that shouldnt use a melee enchant anyway.

If you still haven't decided about your second profession, I think Enchanting goes well with Tailoring because you don't need a gathering profession to support either of them, and you can also use Enchanting to disenchant the items you made with Tailoring.
